Award-winning Dutch-Ghanaian artist, producer and multi-instrumentalist Bnnyhunna opens a promising new chapter with the release of double single ‘The Heart Part 3 / The Missing Piece’, via Avant Garden. The two-track release marks the first introduction to his forthcoming album Selah, due this November, and offers an early glimpse into a project built around reflection, musicality and space. Across the two recordings, Bnnyhunna explores two different sides of the same world. ‘The Heart Part 3’ is ambient and meditative, with delicate flutes drifting across a spacious instrumental arrangement, creating a sense of stillness that encourages you to slow down and sit with your thoughts. ‘The Missing Piece’ moves with more momentum, introducing driving drums, bright synths and a livelier rhythmic foundation while retaining the warmth and spaciousness at the heart of the release. Together, the tracks establish the sonic language of Selah, one that is immersive, instrumental and deeply considered. His previous work has seen support from Rolling Stone Africa, Highsnobiety and Complex, alongside associations with some of the most exciting names within contemporary jazz and alternative music, including Kokoroko, Blue Lab Beats, and RIMON. That wider musical world continues to inform his work, but Selah sees Bnnyhunna turning the focus further inwards. release schedule
